Follow the story of Hades and Persephone, re-imagined for a modern era. Persephone is an "old-soul", struggling with a helicopter parent and trying to figure out her powers as a deity of the pantheon. Hades is unappreciated, misunderstood, and feeling disconnected in the Underworld. Together they find friendship, mutual respect, and support in each other's company. But, as in all Greek myths, drama ensues and tragedy strikes. Read on to see this familiar story unfold like you've never heard it before!

This book deals with mature themes and topics, including harassment, manipulation, and sexual assault. While it does so in a fairly non-graphic way, it may not be appropriate for everyone. Difficult topics are labeled with trigger warnings and all themes are treated with dignity and compassion. However, be aware that this graphic novel is NOT a children's book, and is targeted at an ADULT audience. Smythe does a fantastic job of balancing the garbage that is the Greek pantheon drama with depictions of other healthy and positive relationships throughout the series so that the overall atmosphere of Lore Olympus is one of hope and healing. I highly recommend this graphic novel series, with the caviat that this is for an adult audience and one that is aware of the potential trigger warning events.
