Flu Review - The Headmistress of Rosemere by Sarah E. Ladd

After many years waiting on a man to come for her, Patience has given up on the dream of relationship.  She now has duties to her mother and to the school.  By reputation, the Lord of the land, William Sterling is a cad.  When Patience finds him wounded on her doorstep, she will have to judge for herself what she thinks of him.  The status of the school and of her heart are in jeopardy.  Can she find peace between her responsibilities and her own heart?

The Headmistress of Rosemere has some intense heartbreak yet a warmth that brings a cozy fire to mind.  Sarah E. Ladd does a beautiful job conveying the desires in the heart of the heroine that many of us can relate to.  Even though our era provides more choice and freedom, many longings still remain the same no matter what period we live in.  The descriptiveness of the wording the author uses is very endearing and emotional.  It gives way to being able to identify our own feelings.  It is absolutely a lovely presentation of an inspirational type book.

For the audio book version, Henrietta Meire reads the story.  Her voice is both gentle and lyrical and gives the perfect balance to the characters.  Her lilting accent is definitely an artful addition to this beautiful story of love and trust.  I rate it 4 out of 5 stars. *the library offers this title in both eBook and eAudiobook!
