Flu Review - Aggie Morton Mystery Queen: Peril at Owl Park, by Marthe Jocelyn

This is the second book in a lovely new series by Marthe Jocelyn. The first one being The Body Under the Piano. While the first one introduces Aggie, who is inspired by the real-life Agatha Christie, this second book seems cozier to me. We find ourselves embroiled in another mystery that Aggie and Hector (modeled after the great Poirot) are intent on not being left out of, just because they are children. It takes place around the Christmas holidays as the group of characters takes a trip to the newly married, Lady Marjorie’s estate. A mysterious curse and a startling discovery heats up the atmosphere just as the Christmas Eve festivities begin.
Peril at Owl Park is an exciting yet warm story that would be a lovely winter read. The characters are well developed and exude personality. We have a kind Grandma and a crotchety one. A mix of servants and guests. Each one delivered to us nicely with scenes of snow and fireside conversation in Marthe Jocelyn’s lovely style. Any young Agatha Christie fan would be pleased to immerse themselves in this wonderful book and any Adult fan would enjoy sharing Agatha with their young ones. I would give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
