How films are made and released have changed over the past few years due to the pandemic. Some films are still released into theaters while others are released on the various streaming services that are available. Films are also released on DVD and Blu-ray earlier than in the past. Here are some of the newly released films on DVD that I recommend to watch.

“Downton Abbey: a new era”, is a historical drama film and the sequel to the 2019 film Downton Abbey. The much-anticipated cinematic return of the global phenomenon reunites the beloved cast as they go on a grand journey to the South of France to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess' newly inherited villa. If you’re a fan of “Downton Abbey”, you’ll love this.

“Studio 666”, is horror comedy that stars Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Foo Fighters. They move into an Encino mansion steeped in gruesome rock history to record their much anticipated 10th album. Once in the house front man, Dave Grohl, finds himself grappling with supernatural forces that threaten both the completion of the album and the lives of the band. This film is rated R. If you don’t like grisly horror then this isn’t for you.

“The Bob’s Burger Movie”, is an animated, big-screen, musical comedy-mystery-adventure based on the long-running series.  The film has Bob and Linda working together to salvage their livelihood as a giant sinkhole threatens to envelop their hamburger restaurant and keep anyone from walking in the front door. While Bob and Linda struggle to keep the business afloat, the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family's restaurant. As the dangers mount, these underdogs help each other find hope and fight to get back behind the counter, where they belong.

I’ve saved the best for last. “Everything Everywhere All at once” is my current favorite film. When an interdimensional rupture unravels reality, an unlikely hero must channel her newfound powers to fight bizarre and bewildering dangers from the multiverse as the fate of the world hangs in the balance. This hero, who immigrated from China has no choice but to enter multiple realities. The protagonist has the ability to travel to many different universes. These universes are linked together by different versions of the lives she could have had. In order to save everyone else’s life, she has to use this power.
