Daphne Blakeway is being shipped off to yet another boarding school; only this one is different than all the rest. She is suspicious about it anyway because her invitation came out of nowhere, but when she arrives it looks more sinister than she could have imagined. During her stay she is pulled into some mysterious goings on and makes fast friends with an odd girl named Emily and a scruffy boy named George. Three unlikely friends set out on a quest to solve, the mystery of the book. The steps creek and the floors have holes but it’s not because of neglect. Anything can happen at St. Rita’s.
The Book Case has a very heartwarming sense of friendship and family as the story unfolds. The main characters begin to trust each other as they become closer friends and find out that true family does not have to come from the same genetics. Dave Shelton does a wonderful job of evolving the scenes; from the very beginning all the way to the deep corridors of this old boarding school. The Atmosphere makes for a thrilling read with just enough mystery to keep you coming back for more. This is a charming book and a good read for bookworms. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
