All aboard for Winter Reading! Our Children's Winter Reading program is a fun bingo challenge for preschool children from birth to age 6 (and their caregivers) and for schoolchildren in grades K-6 (ages 5-12). 6th graders are welcome to choose this program or sign up for Teen Winter Reading instead.

How to participate

Pick up a bingo card at the Children's Desk or download one here (PDF):

Between January 3 and February 28, mark one square for each unique activity you complete. Five squares in a row, column, or diagonal is a BINGO!

Bring your bingo card to the Children's Desk to celebrate and pick up prizes! For your very first bingo, choose a free book and earn a drawing entry. Earn another drawing entry for filling the whole bingo card, up to two cards per child.

Rules and guidelines

Children's Winter Reading is more relaxed than Summer Reading. Just read, write, play...and mark your bingo card. Want suggestions? Ask us!

Children are encouraged to enjoy the activities alone or with a grown-up, sibling, pal, pet...
