2019 Children's Winter Reading
January 3 - February 28
Start a new year of exploration with Winter Reading!
Our Children's Winter Reading program is a fun bingo challenge for preschool children from birth to 2nd grade (and their caregivers) and for schoolchildren in grades 3-6. 6th graders are welcome to choose this program or sign up for Teen Winter Reading instead.
How to participate:
Pick up a bingo card at the Children's Desk or download one here (PDF):
Between January 3 and February 28, mark one square for each unique activity you complete. Five squares in a row, column, or diagonal is a BINGO!
Bring your bingo card to the Children's Desk to celebrate and pick up prizes! For your first and second bingo, earn a drawing ticket, a coupon, and a small prize. Earn another drawing ticket and a free book for filling the whole bingo card. If you wish, you can do it all over again with a second bingo card. Cards #3 and #4 will only receive drawing tickets.
Rules and guidelines:
Children's Winter Reading is more relaxed than Summer Reading. Just read, write, play...and mark your bingo card. Want suggestions? Ask us!
Children are encouraged to enjoy the activities alone or with a grown-up, sibling, pal, pet...
Maximum of 4 bingo cards per participating child.
- Thursday, January 3: first day to get a bingo card

- Thursday, February 28: last day to pick up prizes
