Book Buddies, which is designed for 3 to 6 year-olds (child must be 3 before the first class), as well as their caregivers, provides children in a group setting with experiences in reading, writing, and language development, while providing caregivers with information about early literacy.

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Donna Corp will teach techniques for rubber stamping.  A new project will be featured every month.  There will be a fee of $5 for supplies.

Calligraphy Class (2 part class)

Monday, February 15 & February 22

6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

1st Class: Learn ornamental lines resembling the flourishes of ornate or decorated hand writing. You can write a beautiful verse or send a fancy hand written card after taking this class. Bring a couple of ideas of something, you'd like to write, like a verse or poem. A fee of $5 will be taken in the class.

2nd Class:  Bring stamps and inkpads or something similar to this second class if you would like to embellish your project.

Writing the Picture Book

The workshop includes: the nuts and bolts of writing a picture book, looking at genres, the language, techniques and tips for writing, revision, word count, illustrations, market research, and how to submit your manuscript.   


The presenter, Peggy Archer, has been writing for children for three decades. Her work for children includes fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, and has appeared in BabyBug, LadyBug, Children's Playmate, Humpty Dumpty, Highlights for Children, Turtle, Instructor, and Wee Wisdom. Published books include "Turkey Surprise" which appeared on the NY Times Bestsellers List and "One for the Family". "Name that Dog" will be published in 2010.

Become a "follower" of the WCPL Teen Blog and receive a free calendar.  Each 2010 calendar has awesome pictures of the Twilight cast.  Only the first 48 teens will receive a calendar.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB) Meeting

If you consider yourself to always be right, or if you have opinions about everything, then TAB is right for you!  The Teen Advisory Board is a group of volunteering teenagers who want to make the library their own. We meet monthly to discuss events, books, programs, and our ideas for the teens of the Warsaw Community Public Library.  Snacks are always provided.
